SIR – Was it just sloppy phraseology, or was Bob Watson (T&A March 9) actually blaming Messrs Miliband and Balls for Islamic radicalisation?
While I would agree that the Blair government’s part in the, US orchestrated “regime change” in Iraq, was most certainly the germination of the issue, few could disagree that the Tories sickly and sycophantic relationship with the US, and in particular, their part in the “regime change” in Libya, has turned that country into a hell on earth for those that remain and a complete humanitarian disaster area.
Some may recall that it was also the Tories (with US hands up their backs) that wanted a further “regime change” in Syria recently, and when Ed Miliband and Labour voted firmly against that option, it was the same Tories and the US (funded by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Israel ) that armed and trained the, so-called, “Moderate Opposition” to Assad in Syria.
Of course, as soon as they were armed and trained the “Moderate Opposition” immediately morphed into “Islamic State” and are currently rampaging throughout the whole of the Middle East and North Africa) A somewhat chilling example, Mr Watson, of the principles of “cause and effect”.
