SIR – So Geoffrey Holmes (T&A, Letters February 23) seems to think that Ed Miliband is not fit to be Prime Minister because of the company he keeps.
By this yardstick, David Cameron is even less qualified if those attending the recent Conservative “Black and White Ball” are anything to go by.
It is a little wonder that the organisers tried to keep the guest list secret and that many participants tried to sneak in by the back door. A motley crew of pornographers, Prussian emigres and hedge fund managers is hardly what is needed by the Tories to convey the message to the rest of us “who work hard and do the right thing (D Cameron) that we’re all in it together”.
At least Mr Miliband is open about who he speaks to, especially trade unionists who after all are the Labour Party which was founded to give working people some proper representation in parliament.
