SIR – One of my happiest memories as a young boy growing up in Scotland was visiting my grandmother in Kirkcaldy (Gordon Brown’s home town) and going with her to the town’s Beveridge Park to feed the ducks.
Last week, a friend and well-known figure in Saltaire was chastised by a park warden at the village’s Roberts Park for throwing ‘litter’.
It was in fact bread for the ducks.
