SIR – With regards to the recent concerns of the vicar at All Saints Parish Church, that her flock might find it difficult to park on a Sunday should restrictions come in, she should try living here during the week when the road is clogged with cars left by people who then go off to work (T&A, January 28).
But she doesn’t live here, and neither do many of those who have raised objections to the parking scheme.
The road is so congested that it causes real problems, especially for contractors, delivery vans and, of course, the refuse collectors. I have pointed out to the vicar that those attending weddings and funerals are often left with no space to park, which can only cause them more stress at a time when they need it least.
I may be an atheist but I certainly do respect the needs of those who use the church, and have many a time let mourners/wedding guests park in my drive as that has been the only space available.
