SIR - I spent four of the happiest years of my school days (1953-57) at Hutton School in Eccleshill, and myself and other like-minded people would hate to see it demolished and houses built on the site (T&A, January 24).
The building could be revamped as a school, as Bradford Council is always crying out that there are not enough school places.
Should the inevitable come and planning permission is granted for new homes, the council should insist that the original stone is used as the outer brickwork of the new homes.
