SIR – Mr Hindle betrays a Marxist world view in his reply to my letter as he reduces all events and outcomes to economics (Letters, January 21). He further refers to the working classes as “the proletariat”.
Mr Hindle is quite correct to imply that the situation we are confronted with in terms of terrorism is related to the West’s policies, especially in the Middle East. However while lecturing me on economics and causality, Mr Hindle strays somewhat from answering the point of my letter.
I had stated in reply to his original letter that Muslims are not being unduly demonised in Britain, while in contrast Christians have been murdered and persecuted for their beliefs around the world.
Fortunately this is not a situation Muslims find themselves in Britain.
