SIR – I wish to bring this to your attention, and that of all Bradford ratepayers: The Council is currently digging up Broadway, a pedestrian walkway that was put down ten years ago at great expense as they used block paving to draw fancy patterns in the pavement.
They are currently digging it up at further cost to the taxpayer and they don’t look as if they are going to re-use the bricks.
I cannot see that this is a proper use of taxpayers’ money. In fact it makes me very angry that my money is being used in this way. It wasn’t necessary in the first place and it’s not necessary again, regardless of what the plans are in that area.
The Council are constantly saying they have no money for this and that but they can use it in this cavalier fashion.
