SIR – Owing to the mild weather at the end of 2014 and start of 2015, would it not seem logic for Bradford Council, having not had to spend money that would have been used for gritting, etc, to begin cleaning out our street drains (some which are fully blocked up, such as in Garfield Avenue) and also clean up some of our street names and road signs.
Some are so dirty they are unreadable; Leeds Road BD3 2EW and Hazel Croft in Harrogate Road, to name two of many. This could be done using the many on community service.
I hope our councillors take this on board and deal promptly with this matter.
Don’t forget to fill the potholes in our roads too.
C Taylor, Leeds Road, Eccleshill
