SIR - Reading the comments by the Director-General of British Chambers of Commerce, I feel I must agree. He says about priorities for business post election, “public spending based on prudence and long-term stability not short-term giveaways and gimmicks”.
He also raised many other good points if UK PLC is to prosper and its inhabitants prosper along with it.
Fortunately, despite Miliband’s “double or treble dip recession” and “a million lost jobs” predictions, the UK PLC has gone from strength to strength.
My only sadness is it isn’t being felt as much up here as in the South East. However it is going the right way, I just hope it isn’t all wasted on May 7!
Cllr Roger Taylor (Con), Northowram and Shelf Ward (Calderdale)
