Peculiar decision taken by a headteacher
SIR – I have often thought of writing a small book called Odd Conduct of Headteachers.
A recent original was a head in the north who (in school time) decided to have a purge on uniform lapses.
She is said to have hired a minibus and sent teachers with offending pupils to a nearby shop to buy £18-a-pair shoes. Then sent the bill to the parents. Top that!
