SIR - Labour Councillor Ralph Berry describes the education report commissioned by his administration (T&A, January 5) as an “excellent review” which is quite surprising as it’s an extremely damning report on Bradford’s education.

One key indicator stated ‘the percentage of pupils attending secondary schools judged by Ofsted to be good or better’ was 42% in Bradford while the national average was 74%.

For people who haven’t seen the full report it highlights that Bradford has one of the worst education records in the country. Of course, you cannot have possibly read the report because Mr Berry and his Labour cohorts have refused to release the report to the people of Bradford. My calls for its release on behalf of the people of Bradford have been rejected.

Mr Berry adds we need to ‘get behind its (the reports) conclusions’. The conclusion must be then that your education policy and indeed you yourself are not fit for purpose.
