SIR – With all the recent furore over A&E being inundated, I would like to share what happened to me on Christmas Day.
After an unfortunate slip on laminate flooring, I fell awkwardly on my arm. I didn’t want to go to the BRI as we feared it would be packed and I would face a long wait.
The pain got worse so I relented and we arrived at 9pm, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and despite initial concerns, we were back at home by 10.30pm after having x-rays and being told it was just a bad sprain. I could not praise the service I received highly enough.
Thank you to the hard-working staff at the BRI.
Sadly, others were not as grateful and were openly insulting members of staff. They don’t realise how lucky we are to have the NHS.
