SIR – I just wanted to say a very big thank you and well done to all the cheerful volunteers on Shipley Glen Tramway for the really well organised Santa Specials – my children of varying ages all had a brilliant time counting snowballs on the journey up, meeting Santa and the presents were perfect!

Congratulations also to Kathryn Pitcher on becoming the first female tram driver in 119 years. A fantastic achievement!
