SIR – Thursday night December 11 provided a double dose of diatribe on TV.

First were those idiotic and non-sensical ramblings of Russell Brand, claiming to be a comedian and causing nobody to laugh. His unbuttoned shirt just made it easier to give himself love-bites.

Second was Diane Abbot, who believes that her hash-tag of “baffled” is a notable award. Always looking to be offended, and in customary manner goes through the whole range of emotional facial contortions in about 30 seconds, whilst not knowing the details of the points raised by anyone.

Ed did not see her as an intellectual maverick, but a total embarrassment to his party, incapable of office, and a bonus for the opposition.
