SIR – This week is Volunteer’s Week and Barnardo’s in Yorkshire is keen to hear from people who would like to help the charity turn children’s lives around.
Here at Barnardo’s we’re launching our new volunteer recruitment drive in Yorkshire and are encouraging people to put their spare time to good use and become a volunteer.
We have volunteers from all walks of life, ages and abilities, but are keen to recruit more. Volunteers help Barnardo’s in a variety of ways. They work directly with children and young people, in the charity’s shops and offices or help to raise vital funds. Barnardo’s also has special opportunities for employee volunteering, young volunteers and university students.
Volunteering is fun and rewarding. It can also be a stepping stone to a new career and help you to gain the skills you need.
All Barnardo’s volunteers are given full training and support. If you’re interested in volunteering with Barnardo’s, please contact Jo Hunt on (0113) 3933200, or go to barnardos.org.uk/volunteering. We look forward to hearing from you.
