SIR – So, the ‘wreckers’ are at it again! Firstly, Bradford is described as the 13th most unhappy city in the country.
May I suggest the pollsters visit City Park any sunny weekend or holiday where they will see 200 or 300 people, including many, many children, enjoying themselves hugely in probably the happiest city centre in the UK.
Coming after that, Bradford was described as a ‘high risk’ area during the election.
So what happened? In Manningham, voters were described as being good natured with no problems. At Heaton, reports of a fight turned out to be a false alarm.
At Haworth Road, an incident turned out to be one of road rage and nothing to do with the election, while at Lidget Green there was a minor collision between two rival party’s vehicles. At the other 190 or so polling stations, there was nothing to report.
In other words, complete mayhem! Bring out the riot police!
Time and time again the people of this city prove the critics wrong. When are they going to learn?
