SIR – It is reported that our home-grown energy supplies of gas and oil will be running dry in around five years’ time and that we will be even more reliant on eastern bloc countries for our energy supplies.

With major world upheaval just around the corner, this country needs to be looking for alternate energy supplies.

We are sitting on a vast supply of cheap, clean and easy to extract methane (natural gas) and we should be taking advantage of it.

This process of fracking is being held back by red tape and the doom mongers who believe that fracking will cause earthquakes, polluted water supplies, etc.

This process of fracking needs to be looked at from all angles and a decision, either ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ come to in the near future.
