SIR – Sometimes words are not enough to soothe my frustration with the likes of Ian Parsons, (Letters, May 17) and Frank Dignan (Letters, May 16).
These two critics of Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg and increased tuition fees bemoan the fact that graduates – including the poorest – may end up not repaying student tuition fees.
Labour introduced the fees, which were increased at the Tories’ insistence. Now, because of concessions insisted on by Lib Dems over levels of earnings before pay-back, rates of pay back and exemptions, Lib Dems appear to have scuppered them.
One in the eye for both Tories and Labour. Next best thing to abolishing the hated fees.
Heads critics win and tails Lib Dems loose, according the former. No, words are not enough, but fortunately or unfortunately, they are all I have.
