Name of buses
SIR – Please can I ask that you correct the suggestion in the news item on the new bus proposals for Bradford (T&A, May 20) that the proposed new buses for West Yorkshire are ‘Routemasters’?
The picture that accompanied this article shows one of the so-called ‘Boris Buses’, nicknamed after current London Mayor, who commissioned them. The Routemaster is an entirely different vehicle, originally dating from the 1950s, and which incidentally celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
