Cynical reaction
SIR – The purpose of Keith Rayner’s letter (T&A, May 9) soon became apparent for after asking why Bradford’s ratepayers should pay for people to work late into the night just to get the Council election results a few hours earlier.
He says those who lose their place on the Council will just have to start looking for a real job – one where they will not be able to claim travelling expenses or car park fees.
Indubitably he was being somewhat disingenuous as well as cynical.
