SIR – I would like to say thank you to all the volunteers that worked so hard to make the Go Local Sunday event happen in Keighley.
We had a fantastic day. I took my two children, aged one and five, by myself – no easy task – and was extremely grateful to the bus conductors, in particular, for helping with the pram.
We went to Keighley Civic Centre, then took a bus to East Riddlesden Hall, then got back on the bus to the station and on to a steam train, also visiting the train museum at Ingrow.
We were a bit disappointed the bus museum wasn’t taking part by opening this year, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I sincerely hope the Go Local event continues, as days like these are not something we could afford to do.
We did spend a bit in the gift shops and cafes, which I think is only right when entry is free. I, for one, will continue to support it.
Dominique Marshall, Laycock Lane, Keighley
