Challenge to US
SIR – When US Vice-President Joe Biden is finished condemning Russia for land grabbing Crimea, perhaps he and President Barack Obama would consider giving the Black Hills back to the Sioux, Arizona back to the Apaches, and so on.
While I note complaints that a BBC adaptation of Jamaica Inn was inaudible allegedly due to mumbling by actors I don’t think that warrants a general attack on the practice, on the contrary the mumbled half-heard critical comment in a meeting is one of the best ways of unsettling those in authority.
