SIR – I wish to support all those who are campaigning against the proposal to build 600 houses on Fagley Quarry and the adjoining land.

Only last week there was a double page spread in the T&A about run-down properties being renovated and brought back into use and plans for brownfield sites to be developed.

By all means build on the quarry site, but surely the adjoining field used by the Riding School is not brownfield and 600 houses is far too large a development. Where are the folks who occupy these houses going to find any green space for recreational pursuits?

It seems to me profit is being put before care for the local community.
