SIR – Thanks to Brian Holmans (Letters, March 28) for criticising my letter regarding Tony Benn (T&A, March 19). Everyone has one’s own opinion, and I respect it.
I have never met Tony Benn nor do I know how he treated or helped his own constituents. I only know how he publicly spoke about the welfare of the people regardless their colour, creed, agenda or nationality.
I would like to inform the writer that the British people, white, black or brown, like figures like Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher etc, and they select and elect them to destroy not only their own country but as many as they can, and nothing anyone can do about it, and he was not one of them.
Furthermore, I write what I see.
Ms Mubarik Iqbal, Oulton Terrace, Bradford
