SIR – The Telegraph & Argus reported on Saturday, March 22, that Master Aircrewman Bob Sunderland from Bradford, who helped land a helicopter under fire from Afghan insurgents, had been awarded a mention in the Dispatches.
Despite being badly wounded, he continued to return fire from the helicopter’s gun thus, in all probability, saving the lives of the 20-odd people aboard.
I’m still wondering why this act of bravery did not even get a mention on BBC Look North, supposedly our local news programme.
