SIR – Bradford Council will have to find £115 million of savings over the next three years because the amount of money it receives from central Government has been drastically reduced.

Hundreds of Council jobs are to go and we all face another council tax increase from April.

Yet there are still people pressing the Council to spend millions converting the one-and-a-half mile abandoned railway tunnel in Queensbury into an underground cycle path.

They should be ducked in the 40ft of water that lies at the Halifax end of the tunnel to make them see sense.
