SIR – May I give credit to those who have been protesting outside the Atos medical assessment centres for sickness benefit claimants.
I am sorry to say but the present Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, is a right-wing tyrant who is arrogant enough to think he has the right to victimise and punish the most vulnerable in society.
I doubt that Iain Duncan Smith will listen or even care in my view, but those who wish to make a stand against new sickness benefit reforms I back to the hilt. A Govern-ment minister like Iain Duncan Smith should have resigned a long time ago.
In my opinion a Government that removes safety nets for those who are sick or disabled in society is a dangerous one.
Seemingly the Tories have done what they have always done, persecute the poor and disadvantaged. As they say, leopards don’t change their spots.
