SIR – In a recent Telegraph & Argus (February 3), I have just read an article of news.
In total disbelief, I wondered at first whether it had been written as a joke – however, the idea had been thought of by Bradford Council’s good food award department, in conjunction with a local MP, who had undertaken the task of visiting local takeaways, in order to swap normal salt pots for ones with less holes in them, the idea being that when people shake them, less salt will come out.
This idea is ridiculous, because people who use salt – me being one of them – know how much salt they require, so will shake the pot longer, until the amount required is on the food. To the people in authority who dream up silly schemes like this one – get a life.
