SIR – Re location of markets. In 2008, Bradford Kick Start held an Enterprise competition. My entry was one selected to go forward into the last 20.
I suggested that the markets should be re-located to land adjacent to the Interchange that is readily approachable from the ground floor of the station and the Interchange itself.
It is presently used as a car park. I believe at one time it was used as a pick-up and drop-off point for coaches.
At present, people coming into Bradford by public transport have nearly half-a-mile uphill walk to the markets.
Other sites suggested were Britannia House, Vicar Lane car park, or if the present lease on the bingo hall was not renewed, to utilise that.
