SIR – According to a report in the T&A (January 20), the amount of ratepayers’ money that Bradford spends on the wages and perks of union officials could be a massive £764K per year.
A poll on the T&A website showed that the vast majority of those involved, 89 per cent indeed, were against this sort of expenditure.
But what is the response of Labour Council leader David Green to the announcement of the amount reported?
Not to see how this totally unacceptable figure can be massively reduced or abolished, but an attempt to justify the sum for various stated reasons.
Considering the substantial funds in union coffers, that sort of response from our Council leader is surely simply not good enough? How poorly we continue to be served by those in power in Bradford.
