SIR – Hear, hear to D S Ratcliffe’s letter (T&A, January 17).
Last week I approached Saltaire Junction from Moorhead Lane. From behind a short line of cars, I, along with everyone else waiting, watched the traffic lights change from red to green, back to red, then again to green, back to red and on the third change to green my line of traffic was able to get through the lights.
The problem? Traffic travelling in the direction from Bradford towards Keighley completely blocked the junction.
Despite there being no exit, the traffic queued right across the bottom of Moorhead Lane, and when the lights changed even more traffic from Saltaire Road joined the queue. Would a yellow box solve this problem?
It was not rush hour so I hate to think what it’s like at peak times.
