SIR – Just as we thought Labour’s evil legacy was limited to the double whammy of mass immigration – the problems of which are all too obvious – and 24-hour alcohol sales, which has cost taxpayers millions in extra policing with the mayhem on our streets it causes, and further burdened the NHS with alcohol related illness. Now it seems that relaxing almost every rule on gambling completed the hat-trick!

Online gambling and fixed odds betting terminals on High Streets encourage the poor to squander their money in the vain hope of the big win, which of course in reality does not exist? Proprietors are allowed to operate from off-shore tax havens so they don’t even pay UK taxes on their profits.

In return, it seems that substantial donations are being made to both Labour party funds and to individual MPs.

Coming so soon after the Co-op Bank scandal, this latest news shows that the Labour movement has sold its soul to the devil.

How Labour can criticise the Tory party when it appears twice as bad itself is beyond the understanding of most. No wonder that more and more people just don’t bother to vote in elections at all.
