SIR – The death of great train robber Ronnie Biggs inspires me to write.
We must not glorify this man, which has happened in the past with such high-profile criminals like the Kray twins. In my view Biggs was a greedy, selfish man who was not out to do the world a favour.
Many should remember the plight of the train driver Jack Mills, who suffered brain damage and died some time later as a direct result of the crime committed by Biggs and his thugs. Biggs was no angel, and did not care about anyone else.
Why should he get the publicity and media attention, something Biggs does not deserve even in death? His death should not send out the message that crime pays. It does not.
