SIR – I would like to thank all BPA Juniors Football Club supporters, from children, parents and grandparents, to the Bolton and Undercliffe Ward Panel, and particularly to Councillor Howard Middleton, who made a community award towards the purchase of kit, equipment and running costs.
The panel make decisions on funding bids for the Community First Neighbourhoods Matched Fund Programme which is administered by the Community Development Foundation for the Office for Civil Society.
The aim is that community groups like ours provide their own funding – which in our case is the notional cost of volunteer football coaches’ time – which is matched by the funding authority who then monitor how the funds are spent.
I would also like to praise the efforts of all the volunteer coaches at BPA Juniors football club who are all DBS/CRB accredited (for which the club has to pay around £60 each application) and who provide many free hours each week to coach the children and young persons.
We are always seeking funds and if any sponsors are interested in the club or a team, or if any youngsters wish to join BPA Juniors, visit pitchero.com/bpajuniors or contact Dean Enoch on 0777 38235076 or myself on 0754 3225415.
