SIR – Labour Council leader David Green admits (T&A, November 21) that there are legitimate questions to be answered about how the Labour administration at the time acted in connection with the resignation of the Rev Paul Flowers.
He went on to say that as he was not leading the authority at that time, he could not answer any relevant questions.
However, surely Coun Green was a significant part of that previous administration, and therefore he must have known more about what was going on?
He tells us that his present administration must now rebuild faith, but it does seem fairly clear that the previous administration lied to the electorate of Bradford about the departure of Councillor Flowers.
As such, one has to wonder how we can trust anything that is said at all. Further, what is the position of chief executive Tony Reeves in this regard? Was he also complicit in this totally unacceptable cover-up?
Proper answers to so many questions are urgently required.

Editor’s note: The T&A reported on Friday, November 22, that the Council insisted in a statement that the Paul Flowers investigation was a political group matter and not an issue for Council officers.
