SIR – Paul Flowers has always been quite open about his sexual preferences, and even though I have known about his past conviction and possible caution for several years, believed that he had a right to his private life.
However the integrity of the then ruling Labour group of the Council is compromised by their blatantly choosing to lie to us regarding the real reason for his enforced resignation.
While the Flowers story may be more newsworthy for the national press, the deceit by the Council should be of greater concern to Bradford.
If he is to be punished, then by the same token those responsible for the Council’s culture of suppressing the truth should get their just deserts.
