SIR – How can the people of the Philippines ever get back to some sort of normality?

And yet someone has paid billions of dollars for a painting, and every day we see game shows on television where so much money is given away for answering a few questions, and those poor people have no homes, no food, no money and no hope.

Even the charities are letting them down by not getting aid to them. What is wrong with the world? And when donations of money are sent, so much is given to administration fees.

It is heartbreaking and I think the Government could do more.

We should all count our blessings.
