SIR – Apparently the “defunct” courts in Keighley and Bingley are costing us taxpayers £6,500 per month (T&A, November 15). Now consider the following: 1. On closing the Keighley court, the Bingley court was extensively – and expensively – refurbished to handle Keighley cases.
2. After all that expense, the refurbished Bingley court was closed, and Keighley and Bingley cases were sent to Bradford.
3. Now, there is still talk of demolishing the Bradford court and building a new one because, allegedly, it is in the “wrong place”, though it seems fit for purpose right where it is.
Hello? Does anyone have their brain switched on?
