SIR – When the Council talks of cutbacks people tend to think it will not affect them, but I would like to say that each and everyone of us will be affected directly or indirectly.
I recently heard that talks had been taking place to reduce the opening hours of the recycling plant on Midland Road. Is that justified?
I wonder what excuse the Council will use to explain the increase in fly-tipping then. They have already used the permit!
What about the six crossing patrol people that are retiring at the end of this school term? Are they being replaced?
Do the parents of the children know about it or will they find out in January when their school starts again? One of them is in Thornton and at a very busy junction. It’s time to ask the questions now rather than later.
