SIR – On the T&A letters page I have often had my republican views challenged by monarchists David Rhodes and Philip Bird. However, I am certain I have found an issue upon which we can all agree.
The Royal Household is shrouded in secrecy due its exemption from the Freedom of Information Act. Will they join me in calling for this exemption to be lifted? Will they write to their MP and demand that the 27 letters written to Government ministers by Prince Charles be made public? I am sure they will wholeheartedly support me over these issues.
Having absolutely nothing to hide, the monarchy will be confirmed as a fair, neutral and glorious institution. And I will be silenced forever.
