SIR – It’s nice to see our local councillors taking an interest in the reappearance of the hole at the bottom of Carr Lane, Windhill. I wonder if those same people could comment on the gullys in Carr Lane? Some, if not all, are blocked solid, some with grass growing from them.
During heavy rain, gallons of water can be seen running down the road so it makes sense when this water gets to the bottom of the hill and sinks there must be a great deal of pressure so something has to give.
I thought the two attempts at the fix last year was a quick cover-up job, and my thoughts were correct.
This problem needs looking at from all angles and a proper job done.
George Watmough, Carr Lane, Windhill
