SIR – I am delighted that your correspondent Rita Robertshaw (T&A, June 3) is as concerned as I am about the Labour Council's cuts to social care.
They could leave thousands of vulnerable people trapped in their homes, unable to wash, dress or feed themselves properly.
The coalition Government is right to tackle the enormous deficit built up over 13 years of a Labour government. Bradford Council should learn from their Government’s mistakes, and be more efficient. The Labour Council control a £1.3bn budget, and it is a simple matter of priorities.
We cannot deliver a stronger economy and a fairer society by borrowing more, that is not an option. So, the Labour Council must stop wasting money on projects which destroy our green spaces.
My priority is the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable. What is theirs?
Ian Lyons, Liberal Democrat, Parish Councillor (Baildon East), Cliffe Avenue, Baildon
