SIR – What a wonderful idea Doris Marsden has (Letters, May 27) for saving the Cock & Bottle public house, Bradford (pictured), transferring it to the Industrial Museum in the way they have done at Beamish, County Durham.

It is a fabulous example of Victorian pub architecture with fine mahogany fittings and cut and etched glass of a bygone era.

Could the Council think of spending money on a long-term project rather than “here today, gone tomorrow” so our children and grandchildren will benefit from this.

If something is not done soon it will be too late.
