SIR – Jason Smith’s letter regarding UKIP and tax is typical of someone who can say anything he likes when not in power (T&A, May 27).
He lives in the dreamland of the children’s song ‘Big Rock Candy Mountain’ where the rain don’t rain and the wind don’t blow.
His argument that UKIP and tax is like winning the Lottery sounds good until you realise that there is a one in 14 million chance of winning the jackpot!
UKIP is trying to be all things to all people. On the one hand they want to exit Europe but both UKIP and the Conservative Party support the EU agenda of privatisation, job losses, cuts in services and the austerity programme that is reducing the living standards of working people throughout Europe.
