SIR – Dennis Smith says Bradford Council should compulsory purchase the Cock and Bottle pub, dismantle it and rebuild it at the Industrial Museum (T&A, May 21).
Not a good idea, as that move would cost a fortune and leave us with another empty plot of land. The Council should let those who want to turn it into a restaurant do so, with the proviso they retain as many of the original fittings as is possible.
Looking round the city centre, entrepreneurs are obviously thin on the ground, so we should not turn our backs on one that comes along, after all, they are taking a gamble with their own money, not ours.
