SIR – Three weeks ago, my wife was rushed to hospital following a stroke. On arrival it was found she needed an immediate brain scan, but after a long day’s work, both the radiologist and radiographer had gone home.
Two phone calls later, they both rushed back to the BRI and did the necessary scan after which my wife was sent to Ward 9 where to start with she received round-the-clock care until she was no longer critical and was then looked after by sympathetic and very caring staff.
She has now been transferred to the rehabilitation ward at St Luke’s where she faces a long road to eventual recovery.
Sadly not everybody who suffers a stroke is as fortunate as my wife was, but the dedication to duty shown by all the staff at the BRI and now at St Luke’s is a credit not only to Bradford, but to our great National Health Service, and my family would all like to join me in thanking each and every one of all the people who looked after and continue to look after my wife.
I salute you all. Thank you.
