SIR – Could I, through the columns of your newspaper thank the organisers of the Haworth 1940’s weekend for selecting SSAFA as their chosen charity, this year.
SSAFA is the oldest tri-service military charity in the UK, and the money raised by this wonderful event will help SSAFA carry out our valuable work in West Yorkshire.
We are deeply grateful for the support of the organisers of Haworth 1940s Weekend, which has helped to raise not only money, but awareness of SSAFA. Since 1885, we have helped members of the armed forces who are currently serving, those who have served and their families.
Thank you, once again, to the organisers – it was a marvellous event and a credit, not only to Haworth, but to West Yorkshire as a whole.
Terry Grayshon FRSA, county chairman, SSAFA West Yorkshire
