SIR – What will our wonderful Bradford City Councillors come up with next?
I’ve just read a Public & Legal Notice in the T&A (May 17), which had me aghast.
Our Councillors propose that no longer will we be able to turn right from Cemetery Road into Clayton Road to get to Clayton.
I am assuming that they want to funnel all traffic into one stream, with those wanting to get into Clayton having to turn right at the little roundabout on the Beckside Road/Spencer Road junction.
Cemetery Road is congested at the best of times, but at least traffic can divide into two lanes prior to reaching Lidget Green traffic lights.
If this proposal goes ahead, that will mean there will be a single line of traffic all the way up Cemetery Road from the new Asda site. What an incredibly good idea!
The notice concludes by stating: ‘If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to reach the undersigned by no later than noon on June 11, 2013, quoting reference LEG/DEV/CEB/72098.’ If you agree that it’s a crazy idea, put pen to paper. The customer services reception at City Hall have a copy of the draft order/map to view.
