SIR – In the article “Vital role played by local press” (T&A, May 15) editor Perry Austin-Clarke stated that “we do believe our readers know and appreciate the work of the T&A, and recognise our support of the Bradford district.”
While to a large extent this is probably correct, I suspect that there is also a sizeable body of opinion which feels that the paper is, too often, simply not investigative enough.
Especially as far as Bradford Council is concerned, questions raised, sometimes by readers, are not followed through and pursued as fully as some of us would wish. More in depth questions and investigations would not go amiss.
That is not to say that this does not happen, indeed it does and is appreciated, but perhaps not often enough?
Just a thought for the paper's consideration during Local Newspaper Week.
