SIR – As I near the end of my second consecutive term as chairman of Ilkley Parish Council, I wish to take this opportunity to thank all the groups and organisations in the town for their kind invitations to attend functions or other gatherings over the past two years.
It is always a great pleasure to represent the town at the many events and occasions within the parish, and I am very grateful for the generous welcome extended by all.
Of particular note are the annual Soroptimist charter dinners, musical and dance performances at the King’s Hall, and the over-90s party.
Even though I have been involved in voluntary work in the town for more than 20 years, I am always pleasantly surprised by the commitment, generosity and talent displayed by the myriad of groups and organisations working across our community.
Councillor Heathcliffe Bowen, Chairman, Ilkley Parish Council
